Food tours

We believe that the best way to get to know a city is by strolling along the streets, eating the food and mingle with the locals. You won’t find the true spirit of Bogor in shopping malls or mainstream tourist-traps, you’ll find it in the bustling street markets, street vendors and little restaurants that only the locals know.

Bogor and Sundanese traditional food

Bogor food is distinctive, exciting and, most importantly, delicious! But with so many dishes and ingredients unique to Indonesia it can be confusing for the newcomer and it’s all too easy to order something disappointing. That’s where we come in! We use our extensive knowledge to find the best places to eat and drink; we’ve researched ingredients, learned to cook dishes and generally indulged our obsession with Bogor and Sundanese food. Our never-ending search is driven by our love of all things delicious and we want to share our discoveries.

The tours

We take small groups on foot, public transport, motorbike or private car to explore the bustling street markets, little warungs (food stalls) and restaurants that have been favourites with the locals for generations. You will taste the best of Bogor dishes – delicious street food,

Tasty traditional snacks, amazing fruits and juices, weird Sundanese dishes, Sundanese traditional drinks, desserts and many more. Our guides tell you the story behind the food and the traditions involved in cooking each dish.

The tours aren’t just about eating – as we walk, we’ll show you other points of interest such as puppeteer makers, villages, old historical buildings and a Buddhist temple. We’ll tell you about the history of Bogor, chat about life in the city today and give you insider tips on the best things to do in Bogor and surrounding areas.
